Asthma

Since asthma is a chronic disease, it requires the patients to go through lifelong medication. This can often take a toll on many patients especially if they are on allopathic treatment. On the other hand, homeopathy aims at providing long-lasting cures which do not have any side effects. This means that the patients will be able to treat the disease right from the root to enjoy better results.

Asthma is a chronic disease which is caused by the inflammation of airways in the lungs. A person who suffers from asthma will find that the symptoms of the disease heighten when they come in contact with some form of trigger. The inflammation increases and it becomes difficult for the person to breathe. This leads to incessant coughing and wheezing along with a sudden tightness of the chest which may include shortness of breath. People who suffer from asthma have to be careful when working out or training because heavy activity can increase the symptoms.

Since being active is important for us, asthma should not be a reason for anyone to give up healthy living. This is why it is important to control asthma and manage it well so that you can lead a fit life. Unfortunately, asthma cannot be cured completely. It has to be managed effectively so that the person does not suffer too much when they come in contact with triggers. With the right treatment, you can enjoy a better life without worrying too much about an attack because of certain triggers.

Symptoms and Signs

People who suffer from asthma do not show the signs of asthma all the time. The symptoms are seen usually when they come in contact with some kind of a trigger which is also known as an allergen. This can be dust mites, pet dander, perfume, pollen, mould, etc. These allergens lead to an asthma attack which is also known as an asthma flare up. During the attack, the following symptoms are most prominent among the patients:

  • Continuous coughing which may lead to a shortness of breath
  • Pain in the chest which may be caused by a feeling of tightness in the chest

In addition to this, asthma patients may notice that these symptoms also increase in the early morning hours and during night time. Patients often suffer from coughing and wheezing during their sleep as well.

Diagnosis

Asthma is considered to be a genetic disease which can pass from one generation to the other. This is why doctors may ask for your family history during the diagnosis of asthma. In addition to this, you may even be asked about the symptoms you experience and instances of asthma flare-ups that you have been through. This helps the doctor understand the severity and the frequency of the attacks.

Your doctor may ask you to go through a spirometry test which helps them understand the amount of air your lungs are able to hold when you breathe. This gives them an insight regarding the severity of asthma and helps them treat it accordingly.
